THIS PLASTIC BAG WILL NEVER DISAPPEAR

This simulation critiques the phrase 'out of sight, out of mind' related to climate change and how we act toward waste. The question that drove me and fueled my research is: Is humanity up to the task, or are we inevitably short-term thinkers? Because long-term surveys show that people were more concerned with climate change in wealthy democracies 25 years ago than today. To highlight this issue, I created a world that lives in the cloud, building on plastic's abilities; it will never disappear. We are searching for the not normal stuff, and it has become a competition to make things as noticeable as possible, using colour, shape, and surprise. Everything is supposed to surprise us. However, beauty is items that have embedded into our everyday life. As much as this is a critique of climate change, it also celebrates the ordinary plastic bag and its ability to live forever.
