‘The Plastic Bag Issue’ is the first issue of ‘Extra Ordinary’. ‘Extra Ordinary’ is a bridge between the two worlds, an attempt to critique and reunite the extra and the ordinary. We consider everything a throwaway item and plastic is defined as being a socio-economical problem. Plastic bags have become a cultural issue. Continuously exploring this entangled subject through investigating encounters and meetings between humans and objects, the focus is on increasing the object’s and material’s value, and understanding its beauty. ‘ Extra Ordinary’ aims to change the narrative of how the object is perceived through present stories, knowledge, and explorations in a magazine and digital space, building on the plastic bags features.This is a way of understanding the beauty of objects, using the plastic bag as an example of what life is.
